Is it really carry-on approved?
Yes. Both the backpack and the case are built to standard carry-on dimensions even when fully packed. Airlines vary slightly, so we list exact measurements on each product page. Check them against your airline and you are good to go.
Does it work without the air pump?
Completely. The compartment seals with a one-way valve, so you can roll or press the air out by hand. The rechargeable pump is an optional add-on that just makes it faster. Nothing relies on batteries to work.
How much can it actually hold?
Compression reclaims up to about half the volume of your soft items, so most people fit a week (or more) of clothes in a single carry-on. The backpack expands from 40L to 60L, and the case holds a structured carry-on load.
Is the sealed zip hard to open?
It is firm on purpose. That tight seal is exactly what keeps the air out and holds the compression. A short, deliberate pull opens it, and it loosens slightly with use. A stiff zip is the sign it is working, not that it is faulty.
Will the compression damage or wrinkle my clothes?
No. The pressure is even across the whole compartment, so clothes come out flat, usually with fewer wrinkles than normal stuffing. It is the same principle as vacuum storage bags, built into the bag.
How heavy is it, and is it comfortable to carry?
The backpack uses padded, adjustable straps and a breathable back panel, and the case rolls on smooth wheels. Compression removes air, not weight, so packing light keeps it easy on your back and within airline weight limits.
Is it water-resistant and durable?
